What this is
Seven Minutes in Heaven is a visual novel style game currently still being developed. You play as an angelic intern who accidentally created Earth 4.6 billion years ago when leaving carbon in a wet environment. It is now your responsibility to interview five of Earth’s inhabitants to gather evidence for a court case that decides whether the planet gets exploded with a giant laser.

process
I wanted to have different art styles for different character and backgrounds while still being visually cohesive, because this version of heaven is a messy corporate structure. I always thought the idea of angels having jobs, whether its delivering news to humans or to guard areas of heaven, is objectively pretty funny, which i tried to bake into the DNA of the game.
The game has multiple diverging routes in each scene which would affect the ending, and I used Twine to keep track of the scenes and choices. Yarnspinner also was immensely helpful in creating diverging story nodes.
Currently, only a single one of the interviews is done. Each interview, if navigated successfully, would lead to a scene where the angel intern could obtain an item as evidence for the defence of earth later.
